Kangaroos on the Loose!

We have only been here a week and we have already had our first kangaroo encounter! We heard about an area close to our house where TONS of kangaroos came out to graze/eat each night around 4-6PM so we headed there Sunday evening to take a peek. They were everywhere (and become roadkill easily) and were grazing and eating all over the place but the area is protected land so nothing can really be done about them. We mainly saw smaller kangaroos but as you can tell from the one picture there was a really big one that we spotted right next to the road that just stood there and looked at us for awhile. It was quite interesting and exciting to see these creatures . . . and for free - we didn't have to pay to go to the local zoo! We have also heard about a place where koala bears can be spotted so eventually we will head there as well.
