Greetings from AUS!!

We arrived safe and sound in Brisbane on Sunday morning, June 24th around 8AM (a couple hours later than scheduled.) Evan had a really good trip considering it took about 30+ hours from door to door! We have now spent the past couple of days trying to get everything set-up so that we can move into our rental house later this week. Our furniture will be delivered on Thursday and we're hoping our air shipment will arrive Friday or Monday and then we will "officially" be moved into our new home! We may not have internet access at our home for another 2-3 weeks though so we'll keep you posted. I am going to try to upload some travel pictures here tonight for this post . . . hopefully I'll be successful!

It has been quite an experience having Bryan drive us around the area (with me sitting in the passenger seat on the left side of the car!) He told me I would start laughing the minute I got in the car - and he was right! All of the Aussies have also been complaining about the "cold" weather we are experiencing (they are wearing coats and scarves.) It has been raining since we got here but other than the rain the weather has been around 65-70 degrees - and we've been fine wearing shorts and short-sleeves!

Australian education for the day: We asked where we could find a CART (shopping cart) when first visiting the Big W (Walmart) and the girl had no idea what we were talking about. We started playing charades and learned that they are called TROLLEYS in Australia.

Glad you guys arrived safely. You are going to have an interesting 12-18 just learning the lingo and the driving routine. Bryan you may want to keep Shawna off the rode for awhile, especially during pregnancy :). Evan is going to sound like a little Aussie when you get back home since he's in the prime age for vocabulary growth. Take care and keep us all posted on the adventure..

We are happy you arrived safely. Good to hear Evan was such a good traveler. You had enough stress just worrying how you'd keep him occupied. Guess your "tricks for traveling" paid off. The visual picture of the three of you in a car is enough to make you laugh. I'll bet sitting on the left side makes it really hard not to be a "backseat" driver. Love, Mom & Dad Perry

Glad to hear all is well and that you arrived safely down under. I do not envy you that long airplane ride. I looking forward to hearing the continued updates of life in your new setting. About the dog, dogs do make good pets for little boys. :)
